St. Vincent Pallotti College organized an eight days tour to Uttarakhand, to provide its students learning and enriching experience. Tour was being planned and coordinated by the college excursion committee. The tour commenced on 24th November and lasted till 1st December, 2022. Tour gave students a refreshing, enlightening, adventurous, nostalgic and tremendous learning experience through visits to some of the prominent places in these destinations. 53 Students along with 2 teachers Ms. Aanchal Mishra (Convener, Excursion Committee), Mr. Durgasis Mishra (Faculty) and a tour guide were a part of this fun filled Educational tour to Dehradun, Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Haridwar. The tour team reached Musoorie on 26th November. After freshening up, and lavish lunch in the hotel itself, tour team left for Musoorie Darshan where the scenic beauty of Lal Tibba was breathtaking. Students also visited the beautiful milky streams of Kempty fall and the colorful Company Garden. After sightseeing, in the late evening, everyone was left for shopping in the Mall road at Musoorie. Through interaction with local vendors and businessmen, students got acquainted with issues confronting them and learnt how market analysis need to be performed before starting up any business in tourist area. The next destination was Rishikesh, a serene town in the bank of river Ganges ideal for adventure activities. On their way to Rishikesh, the team visited Sahastradhara, a beautiful waterfall situated in Dehradun. Apart from medicinal springs, Sahastradhara has tranquil environment with rich Himalayan vegetation. The team reached Rishikesh in the afternoon, had lunch in the hotel and left for sightseeing which included the famous Lakshman Jhula, a bridge over the holy river Ganga and Geeta Bhawan. The group also went for a thrilling experience of River rafting in the blustery waters of River Ganga which proved as a revitalizing experience. Apart from providing a fun-filled experience, each exercise fostered qualities of self confidence, leadership, determination, dignity and purpose of labor and team spirit amongst its participants. The tour ended with the visit of popular temples in Haridwar including Mansa Devi Temple, one of the prime holy places in Haridwar. Students developed an idea of the varied businesses functioning in this area. Later, they visited Har-kiPauri (the footstep of God) to witness Ganga Arti in one of the most sacred Ghats in Haridwar where the River Ganges exits in the Himalayan foothills. The tour was a delightful experience for all. It was an opportunity for all to get a good industrial and a business exposure and learn how management and marketing principles are applied by businessmen in tourist areas. Tour was also a platform for them to understand the culture, get a taste of local food, and appreciate the beauty of these four cities and develop a strong bonding between each other.
